Toms' New One For One

I went to a charity dinner the other night in my neighborhood and learned about Toms new One For One mission that focuses on sight.

As many of you know (unless you're like my husband and have been living under a rock for the past 6 years), Toms began as a company that designed and sold shoes. And for every pair of shoes bought, another pair was given to a child in need. How beautiful is that?

Now they're doing the same thing, except for eyes. For every pair of Toms sunglasses purchased, they will either provide medical treatment, prescription glasses, or sight-saving surgery for people in need around the world. See chart below.

It's as simple as that!

So I know now that Summer is here, many of you have a lot of options when it comes to buying a new pair of shades... All I'm saying is, here is a very cool designer doing very cool things.

Love Has Found Me

Who are these kids? They sound so great together! And what a fun idea...

Photos from PA

It all began with a fake palm tree...

On my first night, I went to my friend's birthday party at a "Pirates of the Carribean-esque" outdoor bar in the mountains. It was a pretty crazy combination. It took me a few hours to realize that this palm tree was fake.

Some books from my youth.

I sang for the local Elementary School. I signed about 100 yearbooks at this table.

My favorite part about this table is Goofy's butt.

I was able to really catch up with some friends I haven't seen in a while.

At my brother's graduation ceremony, I was sitting behind this very cute elderly couple. I just love their hats! Especially the cute flower print on the front of the woman's hat. I wish I'd had the courage to ask them if I could take a picture of them so you could see it better. I need to work on that.

Look at my graduate brother! I can't believe he's taller than me. I'm so proud of him!

I couldn't get over some of the beautiful pottery my brother made in his art class.

I just love the glaze on this bowl, and the flower design he made.

But my favorite is this super cute tea pot that he ended up giving to me!

From Pennsylvania

I'm in Pennsylvania this week, celebrating my little brother's High School graduation. I can't believe how grown up he's becoming!

I've been enjoying the peaceful summer nights here. The other night we sat out by a campfire and watched all the fireflies lighting up the woods, while lightening flickered bright white in the distance. When it rains here the grasses give off one of my most favorite smells of summer time.

While catching up on my blog reading, I found this super easy, and really cute craft idea thru one of my favorite bloggers, Candy Castle. It's a craft on how to Make Bags from Envelopes and Pretty Tape.
